Clean Your Track From Public Computer

Many people got account (e-mail, friendster, etc.) hijacked cuz their browser settings still in default (usually in public computer).

We could prevent being hijacked by configure the browser(s) like steps below.

In Internet Explorer (M$ oriented) go to:
“Internet Options”, then click “Delete Cookies”, “Delete Files” and “Clear History” buttons.

In Mozilla Firefox go to:
“Tools” >> “Options” >> “Privacy” >> “Settings” >> and check all the checkbox, then click

“OK” button.
Or just simply “Tools” >> “Clear Private Data” (or Ctrl+Shift+Del).

And, in addition to paranoia:
In “Tools” >> “Options” >> “Privacy”, choose “I close Firefox” in the combobox.
In “Tools” >> “Options” >> “Privacy”, check the “Always clear my…” checkbox.
In “Tools” >> “Options” >> “Privacy”, uncheck the all “Remember…” checkboxes.
In “Tools” >> “Options” >> “Security”, uncheck the “Remember passwords…” checkbox.
In “Tools” >> “Options” >> “Advanced” >> “Update”, uncheck the “Firefox”, “Installed Add-ons” and “Search Engines checkboxes.
In “Tools” >> “Add-ons” >> “Extensions”, disable the “Talkback” if it is existed.

In Opera go to:
“Tools” >> “Delete Private Data” >> “Details” >> then check all the checkbox, then click the”Delete” button.
“Tools” >> “Preferences” >> “Wand”, and uncheck the “Let the wand…” checkbox.
“Tools” >> “Preferences” >> “Advanced” >> “History”, and check the “Empty on exit” checkbox.
“Tools” >> “Preferences” >> “Advanced” >> “Cookies”, and check the “Delete new cookies…”checkbox.
“Tools” >> “Preferences” >> “Advanced” >> “Security”, and uncheck the “Enable Fraud

Protection” checkbox.
“Tools” >> “Preferences” >> “Advanced” >> “Security” >> “Security protocols…”, and check all the checkboxes.

Open explorer and go to:
“C:\Documents and Settings\UserNameAccount\Cookies”, and delete all files in it using shift+del.
“C:\Documents and Settings\UserNameAccount\Recent”, and delete all files in it using shift+del.

And don`t forget to empty-ng the “Recycle Bin”.

And I suggest you to do this after you are really sure to leave that (public) computer.
After you done with all the things above, you could restart or shutdown that computer using (in M$ command):
shutdown -r -t x -f (‘r’ parameter to restart)
shutdown -s -t x -f (’s’ parameter to shutdown)
(you should change ‘x’ with number, it`s indicate time to execute, in seconds).

And by now, your sensitive informations are much more clean from public access.

;p
